I like iOS26. As a designer wanting to see what’s next, I like seeing this new liquid design with the pill styles that I’m starting to see everywhere now. But, Apple Music was a mess – especially in the beta versions I was using. I was confused about which symbols and buttons do what, so I made this guide – if only for a reference for myself, but maybe others will find it useful.
Here are two I was looking for:
AutoPlay On
The first thing I wanted to figure out was how to turn AutoPlay on where it suggests songs I would like. I found a bunch of good Hozier and Kaleo songs this way, so I want that on. That’s this symbol:

AutoMix
And that’s not to be confused with the AutoMix symbol/button:

That’s the feature where it acts like a DJ, cutting out the dead space between songs. I have this off because I use my phone for the jam sessions with my buddies one night a week where I’m drumming (our “band” is called Squid Fishery).
