So even though I'm suffering through a bad cold, I made it out to Circuit City last night because I had a $30 gift card that I needed to use before it became worthless. It was a strange sort of atmosphere in the store. First of all, there were more people in there than normal. And then it was like walking through a garage sale or flea market or something. It was like looking through someone's junk deciding what you might want. The store seemed kind of dirty and a mess, too. The prices were alright. DVDs were like 20% off. Some things were 30% off. I ended up getting a remote for my PS3 and a 2-disc Beatles CD (my first Beatles album, actually) for like $6 with the discounts and the gift card. So not a bad deal. -T

This drive looks pretty sweet. It's a 160 GB external drive that's safe to take with you since it's USB powered and has some added security so that if you lose it or if it gets stolen, they can't access it:
Maxtor Black Armor 160GB 2.5" External Hard Drive - 5400, 8MB, USB 2.0
$59.99 Right now. The BlackArmor portable hard drive is the always encrypted, government-grade, secure portable storage solution designed for carrying your sensitive business and personal data with you. Featuring hardware-based full-disc encryption technology, it not only prohibits access to your data without the password, but eliminates tedious manual security procedures that are required in other technologies. When its USB cable is removed from the computer, the drive automatically locks. Not even a professional data recovery service can access or restore your data without the correct password. Plus, should you choose, permanent deletion of the encryption key allows for secure repurposing of the drive.
Easy automated backup software, multiple computer sync and Windows compatibility.
Use it for backing up your important files or for some extra space. Even the best hard drives fail, so it's not a matter of if but when. Make sure you're backed up!

Check this one out:

The contrast ratio is 10000:1 Dynamic - that's a good spec.
$699 for a 40" HDTV - grab it! :-)

I saw this today on the web. It's a 26" LCD monitor that has an HDTV tuner. It even does 1080i resolution, so it would be great as a big computer monitor. The contrast ratio is the spec I always look at since it tells you what the real picture quality is like. It's 2400:1 on this Visio unit for $299. Compare that to just a LCD monitor (no HD tuner) with just a 750:1 contrast ratio for $269 and the Visio is a steal:
Unfortunately it now looks like the Visio is sold out. :-( Here's a similar 22 inch HDTV:

Somehow on my PC (yeah, I still use a PC at home a little) I got a nasty virus or something that kept popping open web browser windows in both IE and Firefox. I ran anti-virus and Ad-Aware but that didn't help. Finally, what helped is Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool. Amazing! It took a while to run but it took care of things.
Maybe this will help someone else.
