How To Create a Screenshot on a Mac |

To capture the entire screen, press Command-Shift-3.
To capture a region of the screen, press
Command-Shift-4. While you have the crosshairs (when doing Command-Shift-4), you can press the space bar and you get a camera image, which lets you select a specific window - nice and clean.
Or use the Grab utility: Applications > Utilities > Grab
