Well, Karl and I enjoyed 2 glorious days of skiing at Indianhead. The first day was actually a little cool and we had flurries. The second day was a little warmer, it became sunny and was about perfect.
Our favorite runs were Geronimo and Tomahawk which are both black diamonds next to each other but they were serviced by a T-bar lift, so that took a little out of ya which limited how many times we took those runs. There was a double black diamond that we did but it was icy, so we only did that once.
We enjoyed recharging in the hot tub there (which helped immensely) and even stayed there for pizza in the bar, so it was nice to just stay there and not have to travel once we got there. It was almost ski in, ski out except it was across a parking lot – still not bad, no complaints here.
Monday night was the employee party up at Cascade Mountain. It was great doing runs with no other people around. We even rode the lift down the hill once, just to see what that was like. It was a party atmosphere and they had a raffle and I got some cool t-shirts. A good time was had by all.
There’s talk of up to 7 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. And Cascade Mountain did sort of mention maybe opening this Saturday. There’s no mention of that on their web site yet, so we’ll see what they say after this little storm blows through. You’d see me up there Saturday if that’s the case (why not?).
Have a great day!
