I was in a situation today where I was helping someone get their
wireless Internet connection working. They were using some PCs. It was
such a mess. On one computer, they were installing Service Pack 2 and
on the other desktop, the USB wireless unit wasn't even recognized.
Several restarts later, I still don't think they were up and running
yet.
We've all been there, right? Ya fidget with your PC and after maybe
several hours or even days, it gets working the right way. Look at how
much time you just wasted.
That's why I'm impressed with my Mac. It's still new, but the thing
just works. It's not several manufacturers and parts all cobbled
together, but it's one manufacturer and it's done right. Even the
operating system (Mac OS X) is just more logical and just plain makes
sense when you use it. If someone came up to me and said they wanted to
start using a computer, I'd hook them up with a Mac - no doubt.
And for goodness sake, download Firefox. It's not so connected to the
Windows operating system as Internet Explorer is. That means it's
simpler and easier.
