It's official, Americans are fatter than ever

It says: " Americans are fatter than ever, a shocking study has revealed.

In just a year obesity rates have shot up across the country.

Thirty-one of the 50 US states now have more fat residents than a year ago and none of the others showed a decline in obesity rates."

Than just one year ago. Whoa!

It says this, too: "People who are overweight are at an increased risk for diabetes, heart problems and other chronic diseases that contribute to greater health care costs."

Ok, I'll admit that I've put on a few pounds since I turned 30. When you're sitting at a computer all day, it's hard for that not to happen. But that's why there are gyms and stuff. It takes work and I've been starting on it already and plan to continue. I say let's encourage each other to do better and get into shape.

I got one email today that reminded me of two pet peeves:

1. Putting the entire message of an email in the subject line. A subject line is like a summary of the email, people! Make it mean something and don't be so lazy as to put the whole message there. My screen was barely wide enough to read all he said and email programs just aren't designed to work like that.
   
2. HE TYPED THE WHOLE MESSAGE IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Duh. Put your computer back in the box and put it in the closet.
   

Mud slides? Trains that were sitting still coming off the tracks? Ten inches of rain? That would be like, what? Thirty inches of snow maybe if this were winter?

Must be global warming. Yeah. Oh and I stubbed my toe this morning - again, global wraming. :-)

Well, there's more rain on the way, too. So I guess that's just a preview of what the news stories will be. All those global warming reporters have to earn their income, after all.
